Promo: Prerelease cards are special versions of cards from a new set, given to players who attend prerelease events—typically held the weekend before a set's official release. These promos are stamped with the event date and are often rare or mythic cards pulled from a special promo pool. Starting in 2014, players received a random promo from a small curated group, but later sets expanded to allow nearly any rare or mythic from the set to appear as the prerelease card. These promos serve as both a memento and a playable addition to a prerelease deck.
